Resting Parents [RHP Kaito x Ryoko]

"Hey, handsome" Ryoko gently approached from behind Kaito who was sitting, her arms gently wrapped around his neck, her hands casually resting on his chest "Do you believe in love at first sight, or do I have to walk again?" She let out an amused laugh, considering that not only had they been together for a while, but they were already married and had a little girl. Leaning a little closer, she leaned close to his ear to whisper "Baby is asleep with uncle Kosei, we have a couple of hours just to ourselves…" // KaiRyo

Kaito was resting by himself, having spent time with his daughter before Ryoko took over. He soon felt her embrace, opening his eyes at her teasing. While they did get married and started a family together, a part of him did miss the old days sometimes.

“Well all I know is that you look even more beautiful than the first time I laid eyes on you,” Kaito replied with a smile, eyes widening some at what she whispered in his ear.

“Really? Your brother is the best,” he spoke gratefully, well as long as it was not Shanks. “Now the question is, what should we do?” Ironic while he was busy he would think of things he’d rather do, and now he had that freedom, especially with Ryoko too, his mind hit a blank.

Special to Each Other [Kaito & Kurayami, RHP KaiRyo]

Threw a ball of paper over Kaito's head, close enough to touch his hair, but not hit him. "Why would Ryoko-sama want to get back with you?" He reproaches, tossing him another ball of paper. He was forbidden to shoot without an order, due to his excellent aim, but at least, he could bother in another way "What's so special about you?" // Kurayami to Kaito, don't mind him, he's a bit jealous lmao

“Get back with me?” Kaito repeated, casually picking up and throwing the balls of paper near where Shanks was napping. “Then can I assume you know what happened to us in Wano?”

Kaito felt at the time in order to protect Ryoko and his crew, sacrificed himself to side with Orochi after finding out that he was related by Kurozumi blood. The war on Wano against Kaido was rough, and it took him at least a year for him to regain Ryoko’s trust for leaving like he did. If anything, they could understand each other even more after Ryoko left them during that Buster Call, at least she did it better than he did.

But it did not take away the hurt, in a way Ryoko had him but in a different way, having found a crew of her own, it felt like he was being replaced despite knowing Ryoko would never do that to him. He was guarded like she was, Ryoko and by her extension her crew, had to earn his and the crew’s trust just like he had to, it would be hypocritical to make an exception for her.

Kaito was so focused on that, it soon dawned to him he had to earn Ryoko’s trust as well. So all he could do was be honest and firm in his answer. “Me? I’m nothing special. I am the Jack of All Trades of my crew, there is no better fitting title for someone like myself, someone who does not specialise in anything.”

“But we are special to each other, Ryoko and I, we have been through so much. You have my acknowledgement as part of Ryoko’s new found family, as long as you also acknowledge that she has history with the crew before yours, especially myself. I had Ryoko’s back and she had mine, I cannot count the times we saved each other, when we were at our best and worst.”

Huh, it almost felt like a theory session, being able to speak his mind like that, his sigh after was mixed with relief. “Any more questions?” Kaito asked Kurayami, ready for more with his now sharper gaze.

Red Easter [RHP Kaito x Ryoko]

cc-one-piece-grand-ocs “Happy Easter, Ryoko. You are obligated to take one of these chocolate eggs from the basket,” Kaito greeted Ryoko in front of their room, having not gone to bed with her the night before as he would usually. He was in a certain costume, and looked tired too.

Kaito was technically kidnapped by Shanks and Yasopp before he could go to bed last night, forcing him to put on an Easter Bunny outfit and write a note to Ryoko that he would be away from the night. Now apparently, he could only take the suit off when he has given every crew member a chocolate egg, including their newest members of Ryoko’s crew too.

One… two… three silent blinks were her first reaction to the image in front of her. Was it Kaito's voice… inside a rabbit costume? She stood with her mouth half open for a few moments and then simply frowned, ending with a deep, exhausted sigh, even if she had slept well that night.

"I won't ask questions… I can already imagine the answer." She reached into the basket and pulled out an Easter egg. "Damn, darling, aren't hot inside there?" Just as a precaution, and knowing who was the mastermind of all this, she left the egg far away, lest there be one with a trap and it would explode in her face. "I'm going to kill him for doing this to you… or at the very least, throw him overboard." Ryoko crossed her arms, shaking her head "Finish this quickly and take a bath… I'll be waiting for you with coffee and cookies, today we'll take a well-deserved nap together, okay?"

“I’m pretending I am wearing weighted clothing for training, but..." Kaito admitted, he was enduring but it was definitely getting hotter and more uncomfortable as this task dragged on. “Thanks dear, I just have your crew left so…”

Kaito was efficient as he would any other task, wanting to get it over and done with for the theme of the Easter Bunny leaving everyone chocolate treats on Easter Sunday. As he wrapped things up, he just left a chocolate at each of Ryoko’s crew members’ quarters. He wouldn’t mind the doctor Nozomi seeing him in passing, but definitely not Ronin who he was still taking his time to warm up to.

“Finally…” Then it was time he got out of the ridiculous suit, and Shanks and Yasapp had no means of punishing him for cheating for taking it off early. Kaito was just so exhausted from the night to morning’s events, that he dozed off once he got into the bath, slumped over to the side harmlessly.

New Year 2024 [RHP Kaito x Ryoko]

A light show suddenly illuminated the night sky and the roars and screams of the crews were all they needed to know that midnight had struck, which also meant the new year. As always, they were a little further away from the crews, enough to have a little privacy but close enough to be part of the celebration. After all, it was the first new year they were all going to spend together. Ryoko clinked her glass against his in a silent toast and took a sip, before setting the glass aside. "For a year without so many headaches… do you think that's possible?" She laughed softly, turning to look at Kaito. A hand rested on the back of his neck, gently playing with the strands of hair that fell there before gently bringing him towards her, sealing that moment with a sweet but passionate kiss. It was that time of year again, where they would watch the fireworks together at midnight, and then participate in the New Year's celebrations with the rest. This time though, they were joined by more crew members, another crew under the Red Hair Pirates.

"I believe it would be unrealistic at this point, I suppose a year of more manageable headaches?” Kaito replied with a chuckle, clinking his glass against Ryoko’s for their toast between them. While not a drinker, he learned thanks to her, to enjoy the finer things in the life of a pirate.

He shifted closer towards her, the year had been rough and testing on their relationship, but they bounced back and grew stronger from it. He rested his head gently against her after kissing her back sweet and passionately in return. "I love you, Ryoko. I never stopped, or doubted you, even while you were away. So with this new year, I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you, and with our new family too,” he spoke sincerely. They both had made their mistakes, so if they had to make one again, they’d at least be doing it together.

A New Year Without Ace [Kaito x Ryoko]

"I know you would hate if I'm here crying..." Ryoko mutters as she leaves a hibiscus flower on Ace's grave and then sits on the ground in front of it "I stayed strong all this time as promised you when we were children... You know, I have foiled marine's plans so many times that I already lost count of how many were!" Let out a little laugh, although a couple of tears began to fall "But today... I came here to wish you a Happy Birthday... I know should be partying due New Year with the crew but... I can't" She is silent for a few moments, trying to hold back the tears that leaked from her eyes. Then sighs heavily, now turning to Kaito "Darling... at some point will it stop hurting?"

It was tragic, despite Shanks letting Ryoko and Kaito go to Marineford first to rescue Ace, their efforts were not enough to save him. As if he was fated to meet his demise in that horrid war, Ryoko was devastated to say the least. But at least Kaito and the rest of her crew could be there for her, as Kaito was with her at his grave, resting a hand of comfort on her shoulder.

“I don’t know for sure, Ryoko. I did not know Ace as well as you did. But if I lost you at Marineford, I would have a hole in my heart that could never be filled. I believe the hurt will always be there, and with enough acceptance and time, the pain will lessen for you enough for you to bear, so you can continue on your life and be happy. “ Kaito replied. He was in quite the position, Ace was clearly Ryoko’s ex in a way, she also used him as an excuse to cover up her own feelings for Kaito himself at a time. Romance aside, Ace was still her childhood friend, he couldn’t even imagine what she was going through.

“I’m sure our Captain is partying hard for Ace too, he is his own captain’s son after all,” he added, rubbing Ryoko’s shoulder gently. “I hope that one year, you can join the crew celebrating without any guilt, Ace would have wanted people celebrating his life along with the New Year too.

“Jeez!” With his lecture over, Kaito turned to storm off, expression softening at seeing his family. “Sorry, that was not papa’s finest moment...” he admitted with a sigh, ruffling his daughter’s hair to reassure her. “But a nap does sound good, as long as you both want to as well.”

Race to Rescue Ace [Kaito x Ryoko] @nephytale​

Shanks on his Red Force managed to intercept Kaido and the Beast Pirates’ ships on their way to Marineford, and soon a fierce battle began between the two Emperors and their ships. With his main crew with him, he was confident they could manage to stall enough for the Beast Pirates to retreat out of frustration. But he noted his most trusted combatant Ryoko was evidently distracted and not at her best, though her partner Kaito was covering for her, this could not last long before one of them got injured.

Shanks knew that Ryoko and Ace were childhood friends, and the news of his execution was distressful for her, steadily getting worse as the date closed. Kaito would take care of her with comfort food, but they both knew she would regret it if she was too late to do anything about it. So with that in mind, Shanks shot a glance to Kaito for him to get ready for his decision.

“Ryoko, go on ahead to Marineford! We can handle things here, Kaito you go with her too! Take a boat out back, Captain’s orders!” He told them, feeling that was the best option to keep Ryoko safe for now. Kaito and Ryoko were just good insurance, he had faith that the rest of the crew can keep stalling without them as backup.

“Understood, Captain!” Kaito gave a nod to his captain, changing his tactics in battle now as he went to spin his katana in front of him to skilfully deflect attacks while building up his own. “Buster Tornado!” He commanded to send out a blast of spiralling wind to blow away nearby Beast Pirates to clear a path for them.

“Let’s go, Ryoko!” He called to her as he raced to the edge of Red Force, two ropes and a boat below already prepared for them before he jumped and slid down the rope he grabbed. “Drink.” Once Ryoko was on the boat with him, Kaito commanded his snake sword Orochimaru to consume the water to empower it for his next technique.

“Elemental Snake Sword Skill: Aqua Spiral Fang.”

Acting like a motor for the boat, the force lunged the boat forwards to get a head start in riding the tide towards Marineford. “I know you’re worried about Ace, but I have faith that he will be fine. He has the Whiteboard Pirates and his brother now doing what they can to rescue him, chances are he will be freed before we get there,” he spoke to Ryoko while trying to remain optimistic. Though with the video Den Den Mushi broadcasting the latest events to them, the war was chaotic as it could get.

Not that Kosei had a fixed destination, sometimes he just liked to sail and let life surprise him with a new adventure or experience, so his ship really wasn't big.

But, on the other hand, there were crews with galleons, quite intimidating as the crew themselves, or at least in appearance.

That night, his adventure would begin by running into one of them, it was impossible not to see it from distance, but what caught his attention was the music and the laughter, which usually meant one thing. Party. And where there's a party, there's food and drink. "This' going to be fun" His smile wides when he saw their Jolly Roger. He knew it from the stories and knew that where they were, there would be almost always a party, even for no reason.

Once his little ship was practically next to the galleon, he jumped and climbed easily, sitting on the railing "What a good party! Can I join in?" A big smile spread across his face, but when he opened his eyes, found Yasopp and Benn pointing at his face. He raised his hands without erasing his smile "Relax, I come in peace"

- Kosei | (RHP) Kaito

“Come in peace you say? That depends on who you are and why you are here, let me guess, you were lured here by our party?” Kaito spoke as he approached the stranger on their ship, hand on the handle of his sheathed sword to show that he meant business as well. They were all pirates after all, there was always a risk with letting anyone on their ship.

“Aw come on you guys, don’t be so hostile, the more the merrier!” Shanks called from behind them, already half drunk it seems. Kaito was somehow acting like his unofficial second in command, despite his most notable role being babysitting Shanks when he got too drunk. He studied the man over, his intentions seem genuine, still it would be unwise to be as lax as his captain was.

“Very well, you heard our captain, let him go,” Kaito told Yasopp and Benn with a light sigh, still looking warily at Kosei. “What is your name, stranger?” He asked, sounding more like an interrogation since he was asking to see if they heard of him enough to do a background check on the guy too.

Caring Crewmates [Kaito & Ryoko] - Part 1

It was silly how she ended up hurting herself, she really believed that structure would held her weight, but it wasn't and ended up collapsing and hurting her arm. Although the only thing she was worried about is not having made so much noise that someone would discover them. She looked at her bleeding wound and then back to him

"I'm fine Kaito, nothing that going to kill me" She smiles at him kindly, was really grateful that he cared for her, although sometimes she didn't think it was necessary. "I just hope no one found out we were there, don't tell anyone I was so careless please"

Kaito Yukimura was a swordsman, and an all rounder jack of all trades as part of the Red Hair Pirates, including work with and taking Ryoko’s own role of strategist officer and combatant when needed. They were usually in charge of scouting areas ahead and unknown, especially with their captain’s lax and go with the flow nature at times. 

“I’m not worried about you dying, Ryoko. Jeez, I’m worried about you getting caught because of your current condition,” he replied sternly as finished tending to her wound, soon bandaging it with a spare cloth. “Don’t worry, I won’t, as long as you don’t tell anymore if ever get that careless one day.”

Kaito glanced around just to be sure they were safe, seeing as they were not surrounded. That collapsing structure seemed quite dated too, so that was in their favour. As scouts it was essential they get back safely, for the safety of their fellow pirate crew too. “How does your arm feel now?” he asked to check her pain.
